What stays on your iPhone

Audio recordings, transcripts, scripts and your session history (dates, modes, languages, scores and metric numbers) stay on your device. Speech recognition runs on your iPhone, and Stagetake has no server to send them to. Stagetake keeps the audio of your 30 latest takes so you can listen back, and deletes older audio by itself. History and recordings are left out of iCloud backups.

Anonymous analytics

Stagetake sends anonymous usage analytics to TelemetryDeck, a privacy-focused analytics service. These cover things like which features get used, plus app version, iOS version, device model and language. The events are: onboarding finished and the goal picked, paywall shown, purchase completed, session finished (with its mode, language and whether Pro is active), a take too short to score, and a script opened from a link. They never include audio, transcripts, scripts, your name or your email address. You can turn them off in Stagetake’s Settings, under Share anonymous usage data.

Permissions

• Microphone: to record your session.
• Notifications (optional): a daily practice reminder you turn on, and a notice 2 days before a trial renews.

Links from other apps

Another app, such as Rolltake, can open Stagetake with a script filled in. The script travels inside the link on your iPhone and nothing leaves the device.

Purchases

Apple handles payments and subscriptions. We never see your payment details.

Deleting your data

You can delete one take from its score card, or everything in Settings, under Delete all sessions. Deleting Stagetake removes all of its recordings, transcripts and history from your iPhone.

This website

This site has no cookies and no analytics. Its fonts load from this site, not from a third party. TODO: update if Cloudflare Web Analytics is added, as on rolltake.app.

Third parties

Stagetake contains no ad networks. Its only third-party SDK is TelemetryDeck. Nothing is sold or shared for advertising.

If this ever changes, we’ll update this policy first and note the change here.
